| The Sixth Seal of Revelation and Signs in the Cosomos |
The Sixth Seal of Revelation as mentioned in the Book of Revelation contains a number of unmistakable events and covers six verses in Chapter 6 from Verse 12-17 in Revelation, pretty much a third of it.This is an in depth article as I feel this Sixth Seal of Revelation is one of the most important signs in the lead up to the Great Tribulation.
Revelation 6:12-17
12. And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16. And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17. For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
There is an accompanying video to this article over at The Twelve Gates You Tube Channel called The Sixth Seal of Revelation and Bible Prophecy Explained which goes into great detail cross referencing these verses with the old major prophets such as Ezekiel, Daniel, Jeremiah and Isaiah revealing what will happen in those times and what it will be like. It will quite clearly be an unmistakable event and has been known for a considerable period of time.
The Olivet Discourse and Revelation. Similarities?
When the Sixth Seal of Revelation is opened it will be something that is mentioned in the Bible "something never seen before and never to be seen again". There are a lot of parallels with Revelation and Matthew 24 which forms part of the Olivet Discourse where Jesus addressed the multitude on the Mount of Olives. Also found in Mark 13 and Luke 21. He was in effect addressing the Jews but he also spoke to his disciples. He mentioned the destruction of The Temple of Jerusalem which happened in 70AD but he also in addition described a future age beyond that date, this cannot be denied regardless of who he was addressing. The events he was describing when his disciples asked him how will we know of his return (second coming) are shockingly similar to what is mentioned in The Book of Revelation by St John the Divine.
St John wrote the Book of Revelation AFTER the death of Jesus and AFTER the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70AD. The bulk of traditional sources date the book to the reign of the emperor Domitian (AD 81-96), and the evidence tends to confirm this.This Book is further qualified by other Prophets in the Old Testament that were also discussing a future age and the end of an era including Daniel, Isaiah and Ezekiel with shocking similarities as demonstrated in the before mentioned video.
Matthew 24:21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
The opening of the Seals not even the Sixth Seal as dramatic as it sounds does not form part of the Great Tribulation, but is part of the Tribulation period as in 7 years, you could say a Pre Tribulation or Pre Wrath. The Great Tribulation often referred to as Jacob's Trouble is 3.5 years in length and forms the second half of the Tribulation period of 7 years mentioned.
Rightly Dividing is very relevant to these times mentioned during this period, with two being prominent those being The Church Age (Christians 1 Cor 9:21) and those Under the Law (Jews 1 Cor 9:20) mentioned by Paul in First Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 9:20-21
20. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
There are various views on this, like with many things in Christianity(Rapture is one) but many say the Gospels (the first four books of the New Testament) form the Pre Church Age and Acts onwards is the start of the Church Age. Views on this include the Premillennial View, Dispensational Premillennial View, Postmillennial View and Amillennial View. My view is Jews and Christians are ruled by the same God and you cannot simply dismiss anything that was said in the Gospels prior to Acts as only in reference to the Jews? It doesn't matter who Jesus was addressing at the time (this time was Pre Church), it could be the Jews, The Greeks, The Romans, The Gentiles or any other race of people or religious creed, the fact remains what Jesus was describing in Matthew 24 is the exact same event mentioned in the Book of Revelation and also by Prophets of old. There is only one future End Age Tribulation Period and one Great Tribulation regardless of who he was addressing at that time. The only major difference is when you throw the Rapture into the equation. The Church gets raptured..... the Jew as Jews.... do not. Hence why Matthew 24 in particular and the Olivet Discourse is vitally important in Bible Prophecy and not to be dismissed as something that only applies to the Jews. The same God applies to both Christians and Jews and both need to be aware of the same Tribulation!

Sixth Seal (part 1) Revelation:

Jesus in Matthew 24 (Olivet Discourse)
29. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
(Matthew 24:29).
The Sixth Seal. Signs in the Cosmos
After reading the Sixth Seal what must be at least a hundred times probably more, the following conclusions were reached.
Verse 12 and 13
12. And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Verse 12 13 and all those 3 events happen at the same time, it sounds ridiculous but that is what those verses are saying in my opinion. There will be a Great Earthquake (possibly Global) and at the same time a Solar Eclipse and a Blood Red Moon. Using many cross references (see video) it was deduced that this could be a solar eclipse but with a blood red moon blocking the sun and the sky would be dark during the day and at night with just a red moon in the sky and nothing else, there would be no difference. This would probably last for at least a day and would be an unmistakable sign fitting the prophecy of "something never seen before and never to be seen again". Something along the similar lines of the Tetrad of Blood Moons we had recently that ALL fell on Jewish Holy Days, exactly....to the day! A Fig Tree is mentioned here and the Parable of the Fig Tree mentioned in Matthew 24:32-34 I think is particularly relevant.
Verse 14
14. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Verse 14. Every mountain was moved out of their places is referencing a pole shift or earth axis tilt shift which would redistribute the seas and land masses across the planet to something completely different to what we know today. This is cross referenced by other Prophets (see video)
Verses 15-17
15. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16. And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17. For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Verses 15-17 Refers to the upper echelons of society including political and military leaders, top financial and businessman, military leaders, A lister celebs who will hide themselves in pre prepared bunkers knowing that this was coming, but when this day actually arrives they realise there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
Has this seal been opened yet? These events have yet to occur so it is safe to say that this seal has not been opened YET.
Summary.
This is just one of the Seven Seals of Revelation, the final one that follows is the Seventh Seal which will be "Silence in Heaven for about Half an Hour" the prophecy is that precise.
Revelation 8:1
1. And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
The previous Seal, the Fifth is concerning the Martyring of Christians (video and article soon) and follows the first Four Seals of Revelation which are the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. This Sixth Seal some say could herald and be the marking of a Rapture Point or Window to follow, if you subscribe to the Pre Tribulation Rapture theory, which again is something that starts massive and heated debate. As mentioned in the video, Four of the Seals in my opinion could already be opened and possibly the fifth is being opened (rising Martyrdom and Christian Persecution around the Globe). The seals are more negative forces gradually released onto the earth rather than flick of the light switch events, although the Sixth Seal is more in tune and has more in common with the following 7 Judgements called The Trumpets which again are more definite in nature and again have that Biblical unmistakable quality about them.
Can the 6th Seal be predicted say with Astronomical Software or NASA style equipment? There is a solar eclipse in the US in August 2017 and a Penumbral lunar eclipse on February 10-11 2017 but that will not be a Blood Red Moon. Even if it was, they are on completely different ends of the year, reading the scripture for what it is, they would need to be pretty much the same time which in astronomical terms is difficult to pull off. This event I have a strong feeling will be a "Star of Bethlehem" event, one never seen been before in the Cosmos and one that will confound astrologers, astronomers and scientists alike and will be a tricky one to predict but August this year does look interesting.These are all just my views and opinions.
As Jesus stated as mentioned in Matthew 24 regardless of who he was addressing:
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
