25 Ways to Spot a False Preacher and False Teachers

25 Ways to tell a False Preacher or a False Teacher. This article ties up with the recent articles False Prophets and False Prophecies and Mega Preachers and Mega Churches. Links to those individual articles include also the Mega Preachers Exposed series where individual Preachers are put under the microscope. Links at foot of this article.

We are living in an age of deception and the Christian Religion is no exception. We have wolves in sheep´s clothing in our midst who´s sole objective is to lead congregations astray and get rich in the process. The techniques False Preachers  use are increasingly complex and cunning but after analysing a number closely, they all are unique in their own way but they all have some glaring similarities.

A recent video featuring the founder of this website talking about personal experiences with False Preachers.15 signs that are a dead giveaway!

These are the Top 25 things in my opinion that give the False Preacher and False Teacher game away, some are obvious, some are not, some are unusual or unorthodox but are sure fire ways to ensure that you are not getting caught up in lies and deception and ultimately in a situation where your faith could be compromised as a result. Listed afterwards is what the Bible has to say on the matter which obviously has precedence over the 25 points mentioned here.

A video featuring the owner of this website sheds some light titled 15 Signs of a False Preacher

1. The eyes. They are the windows to the soul. If you see an angelic looking Preacher/Teacher wearing very Christian looking clothes and acting Christian, talking Christian, check the eyes...they will always give the game away. Remember the fruits of the Christian Spirit will be love, joy, humbleness, peace whereas an Evil Spirit will have Anger, Hate, Aggressiveness and restlessness about them. Stare into the eyes of a sheep and the eyes of a wolf and you get the point I´m trying to make here. You will not miss the difference!

2. Body language and hand motions. Check this fascinating article from Olivet Journal on some of the Mega Preachers in action and watch the hand signals they use. If they are using ny of these then you are being exposed to Freemasonry, Illuminati or some other Secret Order. All Mega Preachers will introduce these hand signals into their sermons and most people don´t even notice.

3. Sermon delivery. Is it fast, energetic, full of jokes, much pacing up and down and is the delivery like a stand up comedian. Do they use the Bible and quote from it? OR do they just wave it around like a fashion accessory or worse mistreat it or ignore it the whole sermon and just read from notes.

4. Do they add, subtract or twist the word or use sentences such as "It´s not in Scripture so it must be OK" or "That was never mentioned by X so it is not a problem". Do they create scripture from silences or blanks in the Bible? Do they use words such as "Yes the Bible says this, this and this.............but NO NO NO what is really being said here is that, that and that"

5. Are they mixing other beliefs and introducing their words into their sermon such as New Age, Islam, Hindu, Buddhism or Pagan and passing it off as Christianity. Do they talk about other religions and bring that into the sermon, maybe even promoting that Religion. Do they use Christianity as some sort of self help platform or as a positive motivational self improvement course to give what they are promoting more credibility.

6. Do they use a strange version of the Bible or one especially produced for them, or do they use multiple versions.

7. Do they claim to have a special gift and that they are in regular communication and have some sort of hotline with God and try to act as a mediator so you can communicate with God just like they do.

8. What are their fruits? Are they storing treasure here on earth or in heaven? Do they have the fruits of someone with the Holy Spirit or something else?

9. Where do they stand on Christian Beliefs. the Trinity, Sin, Hell, Heaven, God, Jesus, Prayer and Fasting and Salvation and the other foundations of Christianity?

10. Do they appear on Religious TV networks such as CBN, CTN, Daystar or others? If a Preacher appears on one of these and these networks are commercial, what is their objective?

11. Look at the congregation. What do you see? Do you see Christians or do you see "The World"?

12. What religious symbolism is at the venue.....if any......is it Christian in nature.........or something else? More to the point ....what is the venue. Does it resemble a football stadium?

13. The glaring mistakes, slips of the tongue and blatant scripture misreading or analysis. False preachers rely on Biblical iliteracy to ensure that they are leading you away from the truth with false doctrine.

14. Their private life, where is their heart. Are they practicing what they preach or are they merely preaching and living like the world? Basically are the walking as Jesus walked?

15. Who do they associate with. You are who you hang with. Granted Jesus did hang around with sinners, publicans, the sick and lame, prostitutes, alcoholics and others because he said the Righteous do not need help but sinners do. But Jesus did not hang around with False Preachers and False Prophets!

16. Do they have a testimonial. How did they get "Saved". Is there a marked difference in their lives before and after the event or are they carrying on just living as the world.?

17. Are they of the world and telling you what you want to hear (ear tickling) or are they telling you what God wants you to hear.

18.Do they push the donate or Tithe lie saying if you do not Tithe you will not be blessed or maybe even cursed. Tithing is old covenant, something that was done away with the Christian New Covenant where we are told instead to help the needy, poor, sick, lame, widow and orphan and others in need.

19. The Spiritual Vacuum syndrome? If you have been part of their congregation for some time, is your life starting to bear spiritual fruit or are things the same for yourself and the rest of the congregation and you get the feeling you are in a Spiritual Vacuum.?

20. Do they constantly talk about Satan, Lucifier, the Devil but refer to him as the enemy. Is this enemy mentioned more times than God or Jesus during a Sermon. My local church this Sunday I never heard any reference to Satan once?

21. Some Preachers will say they hear from God and have some amazing gift, but does what they hear check against "The Word"?

22. They will try to spiritually control you and claim THEY will guide you to God and help you understand him when if you are truly Saved and Born Again then the Holy Spirit will guide you and help you to understand God There is no need for a Pastor/Preacher/Teacher to do this and act as some sort of gateway.

23. Confusion. After listening to a Sermon are you left more confused afterwards than you were before? Confusion is never of the Lord!

24. The warm and tingly froth and foam syndrome? After listening for ten minutes to said Preacher are you left with a distinct feeling that nothing much has been said in that period of time? Basically what you have heard is a lot of "Hot Air" and you are seeing a lot of "Foam" and not much else. BUT you have a nice warm tingly feeling?

25. The Self Do they use words like I, You, We, My, Us, Our, Me, Myself. If these words dominate in their sermons you can bet that you are being preached a Word of Faith or Prosperity Gospel where the centre of the universe is yourself and not God?

These are just 25 ways (some unorthodox) of sussing out whether you are being confronted with a False Preacher or False Teacher. Of course if you have the Spirit you will in all probability have the gift of discernment and confronted by one of these "Wolf in Sheep´s clothing" types alarm bells will be ringing very loudly indeed. What do you do in such a situation? Run and avoid in the future! The Bible does mention confronting such a person and maybe with others on the issue but "Run and Avoid" is your best option and alert others.

Bible Quotes:
Romans 16:17-18 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Corinthians 14:3-4 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

Ephesians 4:14-17
14. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16. From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
17. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Matthew 7:15-20
15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Galatians 5:19-25
19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
James 2:17-18
17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

1 John 2:6
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Acts 20:28-30
28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

2 Peter 2:1-3
1. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Matthew 7:21-23
21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 24:4-5
4. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Mega Preachers Exposed Part 1. A closer look at Paula White

A closer look into the world of a preacher or you could say Celebrity or Mega Preacher that is Paula White. She's one of the Top 15 Preachers or as they call them TV Evangelists in the US at the moment and is also a Spiritual Adviser to Donald Trump....that's a particularly good place to be at this time in the US. This article was originally going to be called False Preachers Part 2 as a follow on from the highly successful "False Preachers and Mega Churches" It would have featured another collection of many Prosperity and Faith Gospel Preacher types but something about this woman caught the eye for some reason, so this is an in depth look at what Paula White preaches, her life, and a look to see whether she is a false preacher or whether she is legit and above board? This could become a series featuring other Mega Preachers.

Why Paula White you may ask? There's loads of Preachers out there like her? She's attractive, wholesome looking, on first listening especially this condensed preaching session video below, she sort of appears legitimate and innocent enough, I have to admit she sucked me in, not hook, line and sinker, but she had me listening what she had to say. I was still there 10 minutes later which to put it mildly is a bit worrying and I had a tough time trying to switch the video off and it ran it's course to it's full length. Normally within a maximum of 5 minutes I've sussed that person out, leave in a well rehearsed hasty exit, normally accompanied by either a shaking of my head or chuckling or both ............never to return! BUT this one, worryingly kept me hanging in there waiting for the punch line just like a Cobra mesmerising it's pray before the kill, or a Rabbit caught in an oncoming cars headlights. I thought if I'm in the faith and I'm getting sucked in by this woman, what hope does the normal man in the street have of discerning whether this woman is above board or not. Hence this article to shed some light and let people know what's out there and how tricky it can be to discrern whether these people are the real deal or not!

There is a quote in the Bible that very much applies to these End Times and about the many False Preachers and Prophets that will appear in these times. They are mentioned as wolves in sheep clothing. It's a verse that is quoted often in relation to False Preachers

Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. KJV

So the question is this, is Paula White in this category as in a False Preacher or is she a sheep in sheeps clothing as in a Servant of God bringing God's CORRECT word to the masses with good intentions? This video below sheds some light, it's not the full sermon but it gives a pretty good idea of what she is all about? !0 seconds in you'll either love her or hate her.

Video 1 "The Jesus You Always Wanted to Know" by Pastor Paula White

Video 1 Analysis
1. Luke warm safety preaching which is neither hot or cold.
2. The Anti Prosperity Gospel, a novel new approach finger wagging at the cosy middle class, but her Net Worth is $5M or so? Practice what you preach seems to apply here!
3. I agree with what she is saying about Jesus, the company he kept and he preferred sinners to the righteous but again if she practiced what she preached she would walk as he walked. He being Jesus!
4. There is mention of a woman who was married 5 times. In her private life this woman has been married three times?
5. She just seems to be reiterating the bible without any major issues or discrepancies or twistings but in this short period of time there is nothing much happening in the way of teachings or deeper lessons here.
6. The preaching is a distilled and sanitised version of the word.
7. Cobra Preaching or Car Headlights and Rabbits syndrome. She uses her feminine charms to full advantage in her sermon with a lot of hand signs..I mean a lot....this is not a good sign

The Common Trait of False Preachers
The one thing or many things you will notice with in particular the Propserity preachers, Mega Church Preachers and other False Preachers and Prophet types is one/some or all of the following

1. They may appear angelic, will be softly spoken and will have neutral luke warm views on all things but their lives speak a different story
2. OR they sometimes may appear more forceful or even aggressive and use the brainwashing technique to win you over with their preaching which is basically Heresy but because it is delivered with force and confidently it just has to be right?
3. They may use the confusion technique and bombard you with so many facts at a frightening rate, you walk out more confused about the Bible than when you walked in, BUT you'll come back for more as these types are normally good entertainers and know how to exercise control over an audience
4. They prey on Biblical Illiteracy but if you check closely the quoted verses may have very subtle changes and may have been made to fit in with their theology and sermon
5. They will tell you what you want to hear not what God wants you to hear...it's the ear tickling syndrome as in 2 Timothy 4:3.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
6. They may distill, compress, dilute and liquidise God's word so much and then add their own herbs and spices so that all meaning and potency and flavour is lost and changed. Rather like comparing an organic free range hand reared hand made Burger with a Big Mac. They are both hamburgers but one is so processed it loses all it's resemblance to what it originally was and has to be dressed up with items to inject some flavour back into it but changing it radically in the process.
7. They may use the heart string tugging technique or watch for emotional responses from the audience and use that to great effect especially when donations are on the agenda.
8. The sermon will always have a powerful punch line and woven within that punch line will be some call for to "help for the ministry" or "donate to help XYZ group of people" or just "donate to keep this ministry on air" or "donate to help yourself" the old "give and you shall receive" line. The punch line carrot will be dangled throughout the sermon to keep you on the edge of your seat.
9. Many use their hands and body as a powerful way to communicate subliminally with occult hand symbols being slipped in during the sermon, most of which people are not even aware of. Check this article called False Ministries and Occult Hand signs The actual signs are half way down this massive article. WARNING it's an eye opener!
10. These preachers are very slick operators but the dead giveaway is their fruit, it's the main way to judge them. Fancy clothes, huge mansions, private jets and cars to match then their fruits are "the self", "materialism", "Vanity" and "self Promotion". If Jesus was around these days would he have or even want these things...I think not those mansions would have been sold to help the needy and he would have slept on Donald Trumps sofa.......or maybe not?
11. Blasphemy will often be woven into a sermon very cleverly, a sure sign of a False Preacher
12 AND here's the thing, these preachers could preach a false Gospel BUT they truly believe they are preaching the true Gospel and are doing everybody a great favour by doing so.
13: Finally look at the Congregation. What do you see and you will get your answer right there!

There are many more but you get the idea. These people are not of God, they are not Christian, they are of or serve something else.

A very relevant Bible verse that mentions testing of the Spirit or what you could call "Discernment"

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Video No2 Paula White Throws Bible Onto The Floor & (Torah scroll repeatedly)
A totally different video from Video 1 shedding a different light or more to the point darkness on Paula White and a bit more of the truth about her seems to be revealed here. This is a collection of short clips of Paula White in preaching mode and quite blatantly and shockingly throwing the Bible on the floor when she has finished using it as a reference. This is not a one off but has happened on a number of occasions. One of the sermons even mentions respecting God's word whilst dropping the Bible on the floor? A harmless habit or maybe a trademark (all Preachers have them) or is something more going on here?

Analysis Video 2
1. If a persons jacket get's preferential treatment and a Bible amongst many sermons get's thrown on the floor repeatedly, what signal does that send out to the world about God's word, Christianity and that person's attitude towards The Bible/Christianity?..... Intentional or just a number of coincidences?
2. Why isn't the Bible kept to one side on the lectern OR get a bigger Lectern OR give the Bible to her assistant and have it treated the same way as her jacket?
3. She says "There is no glory without the reverence of God.......so if we disrespect God we are not going to have favour" accompanied by another Bible throwing on the floor????
There is no need for a No4

Video 3 Analysis
In this video, there is an in depth analysis of Paula White, her history, lifestyle and private life and you could say her fruits. there is no analysis of this video, none is needed but you can form your own opinion. Joyce Meyer also features. There is no need to go any deeper with a Video 4!

John 10:11-15
11. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Summary
This isn't a singling out of a particular preacher, Paula White caught my eye and on first viewing she seemed watchable and entertaining and yes she's a looker for sure and spins a good sermon. She's got a huge following on You Tube and Twitter and in the real world, so what has been said here will upset a few fans. But on closer inspection many thorns are apparent and she bears the same resemblance as many other TV style preachers out there. The delivery and style is different but the ultimate message is the same.

Vid: A video featuring the owner of this website sheds some light titled 15 Signs of a False Preacher

Questions you need to ask:. Are these preachers of God? Are they in dwelt by the Holy Spirit? You will know them by their Fruit, the Fruit of the Spirit. Are they walking as he walked and living as he lived? Is their Theology questionable and their doctrine unsound? Where is their love. Is it with Jesus and firmly in Christianity or is it somewhere else as in money and materialism.......... as the saying goes "The Love of Money is the root of all evil". Jesus said what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart (Matthew 15:18). Where are these people's hearts? Are they leading you to the light and Jesus or are they leading you straight into darkness and a different Christ that has the word Anti in front of it mentioned in one of the above videos?

If they (preachers) are on TV then you can bet that they are false. Why.....all the major TV networks that broadcast this stuff are owned by the same people. See The Illuminati in the Entertainment Industry. Here's something you may want to take on board regarding any TV preachers from olivetjournal.com

Assume that they are all false.
And, do not bother trying to figure them out,
but simply stay away.

On a personal level I still like Paula White but I have seen enough to help me decide that her Sermons, Books and whatever else will unfortunately have to be avoided but regardless she will continue to be a success in her field. Who knows she may wake up one day, see the light, decide to sell everything, give it to the homeless and other needy, live in a shack and carry on Preaching or decide to adopt the Monastic life and become a Nun . I see goodness in this woman (briefly) which is why I probably gave her more time than most, but it's being corrupted by the powers that be in this world which is a terrible shame.

Exposing False Prophets, Religious False Teachers & Mega Churches

Exposing False Prophets and False Teachers

Exposing the truth and an in depth look at the rise and rise of the False Preacher, False Prophets and Mega Churches and their associated culture. The Bible in the Book of Revelations warns that in the End Times there will be many deceptions and many false teachings and False Prophets. It warns us to test the Spirit.

But what is a False Prophet or False Teacher?
These are people that appear to be in the Christian Faith, appear to have Christian Values, they may even have prominent positions in Religious establishments such as Churches or other such institutions, but their teachings tend to be of the "ear tickling" variety preaching what is called "The Wide Gate and the Broad Way" Prosperity Gospel.

Some views from the owner of this website on self proclaimed False Prophets that appear on various websites across the Net

The most well known False Prophets, False Religious Teachers and False Mega Preachers have large ministries and followings and commonly have what are called Mega Churches which can be football stadium in size. These types tend to be very charismatic, charming, overly nice on the surface, can be angelic looking, softly spoken in interviews and most importantly they tell you what you want to hear and "Twist" the word to achieve that objective often without you realising. Their agenda
